Maintenance of hardwood flooring have become simpler over the years as current designs and styles are now finished with a protective coating that practically do not require any polishing. Aside from sweeping regularly to make sure grits or small stones will prevent scratching, it is best to consult the manufacturer on the treatments that may be safe or necessary for your hardwood floor. Though solid hardwood floors will show some wear after a few years, these can be sanded and refinished to remove scratches, stains, or any imperfections brought by traffic and use.
